RULED BY JESUS | LED BY ELDERS | SERVED BY STAFF | DRIVEN BY PEOPLE

JIM BOLTON

Elder

Jim and his wife Amie knew that Redeemer would be their new church home soon after moving up from Jacksonville, Florida in 2016. Faithfully serving a myriad of ministries over the years (from young children to youth to women’s and men’s ministries), they now lead a Redeemer small group and also teach the little ones in our children’s ministry. To the eldership now also, Jim brings his sincere faith, profound commitment to sound doctrine, and a headlong desire to explore and enjoy God’s creation. Of all their ministering here and there and everywhere, Amie and Jim, foremost, are Mom and Dad to Jack, Maddie, and Caroline.

JIM FICKLEY

Equipping Pastor
Elder
jim@redeemercommunity.com

Jim Fickley co-founded our Redeemer community alongside close friends and his wife Karen after having spent close to 20 years in full-time worship ministry as well as professional counseling. These days, Jim is fueled by an urgency of faith to counsel and coach others toward healing and life growth through the Gospel and to affect the broader community through the development of area leaders. He and Karen have four not-so-young offspring: Brian, Anna, Sarah, and Anderson.

BILL JOLLEY

Executive Pastor

bill@redeemercommunity.com

Bill and Lyndsey were first connected with Redeemer way back in 2009. They were soon off on a church planting adventure, but in 2017 they felt the call to come back and worship in-the-round among their many Redeemer comrades. Longtime spiritual stalwarts in the Johnson City community, (each in their own regard), Bill and Lyndsey share very similar giftings; both bring a passion for encouraging others through teaching, worship leading, biblical counseling, and listening prayer. The Jolley family totals four with kids Asher and Haven (extroverts to the end), and rally together around their life verse, Psalm 16:11!

JEFF MARTIN

Lead Pastor
Elder
jeff@redeemercommunity.com

Jeff and his family of five first rooted in Johnson City in August of 2015 when Jeff signed on to serve the Redeemer staff team as Lead Pastor (sacrificing that Texan mesquite to water his Appalachian roots a bit). As for that family of five: Jeff and Lucy met, fell in love, married in 2010, and almost immediately began making tiny people. Less tiny all the time, their kiddos are Ruthie, Whit, and Bentley.

LEYA MARTINEZ

Director of Connections
& Church Life

leya@redeemercommunity.com

Leya has been a steady, generous presence in the Redeemer order for a long time, calling Redeemer her church home since 2009. With an unusually prolific aptitude for considering others and serving them at every turn, Leya brought her deep heart for knowing and loving Redeemer’s people all the way to our staff team in the fall of 2019! Now whether caring for our household teams, ensuring the staff team is humming along in thoughtful order, or dryly wielding humor at exactly the right moment, Leya works steadfastly to cultivate deeper relationships that nourish, develop, and profit others. In short, she takes good care of people.

JEFF SMYTHE

Family Life Pastor
jsmythe@redeemercommunity.com

Jeff, along with his “cute Canadian wife” Pam (his words), partnered with Redeemer back in 2011. In the years before we roped him onto our staff team (in August 2018), Jeff served as a missionary pilot in Guatemala for a number of years and then was devoted to full-time camping ministry right here in East Tennessee for the better part of two decades. He and Pam have four post-nest kids: Sharon, Ben, Luke, and Caleb.

JODI THOMAS

Women’s Ministry Director
jodi@redeemercommunity.com

Jodi has been a generous, faithful servant of our Women’s Ministry since 2015, tirelessly serving on the women’s lead team and personally leading our seasonal women’s studies. Joining our staff team in 2019, Jodi brings an unmistakable depth of heart and mind to our team and to our expanding Women’s Ministry, and is just about always on the verge of praying for those around her right then and there. Jodi, her husband JT, and their son Cole partnered with Redeemer in 2013 and have each become a pivotal and undeniably significant part of who we are as a church family.

JT THOMAS

Elder

JT and Jodi Thomas became a vital part of things at Redeemer upon arrival in 2013. Since diving in, along with their son Cole, both have led within the life of our body through a sort of natural, unrestricted outpouring of all they are. JT has brought his uncannily Jesus-like empathy and interest in people, his capacity to care for Jesus’ people, his gift of encouragement, and his heart passionate for the Gospel to the elder table since 2017.

CARTER WINE

Technical Director
carter@redeemercommunity.com

Carter has called Redeemer home since spring 2017 when he first visited as a student at ETSU. He started volunteering with the children’s ministry team before training with the sound team. Over the course of 2020, he began to take on a larger role within the sound team starting with recording the worship videos for the virtual service to running sound for the live services and the transition to a staff position became a natural progression. Carter is now integral in our Sunday morning production, podcast, website, and so much more. He is a joy to work with and to know. We are better because of him.
