Following Jesus isn’t just for adults. We value the whole family and believe that every person—kids and parents alike—can grow in a loving relationship with Christ. One of our strongest desires is to help equip every member of your family to follow Jesus well. We view our Sunday morning children’s ministry as a partnership between parents and the church for the powerful purpose of your children enjoying Christ, loving his friends, and engaging their world.
We believe your little one will enjoy the kid-sized environment we’ve made just for them! They’ll play games, sing songs, and have their own fun lesson with familiar teachers dedicated to teaching and challenging your kids with Biblical truths. Every child will be reminded every week that God created everything, that God is good, and that we can be saved through God’s son Jesus Christ!
If your child has special needs, food allergies, or any other specific needs, we’re ready for you! We’re also prepared to arrange one-on-one attention with trained teachers to ensure your child’s safety and that they have a wonderful Sunday morning experience learning more about Jesus!
Redeemer’s Kids Ministry is led by our Family Life Pastor, Jeff Smythe.
August 2021 – Redeemer at Wetlands: family-friendly event for all ages to close out a hot summer! More details to come.
You’ll be welcomed by our friendly team who will guide you through our digital check-in process. If you’re a first time guest of Redeemer Kids, click HERE by Wednesday on the week you plan to visit. Then, fill in a little bit of info about your family and your child, and we’ll have you pre-registered when you arrive that Sunday morning! Otherwise, our friendly team will be ready to quickly register your child any Sunday at the New Family Registration counter when you arrive on the 3rd floor! Whether you pre-register or register on a Sunday morning, our team will give you a name tag for your child to wear and a coded parent tag you’ll need when you collect your child after main worship gathering downstairs is over.
All families can check their children into Redeemer Kids either before the main worship gathering begins or during the 6-7 minute break in the main worship gathering (keep reading below).
- For families checking in their child before the service, our time with your children starts off with a mixture of team games and free time as they enjoy a kid-sized space created just for them! The second part of our time includes lessons from the Bible, singing and worshiping together, and making awesome crafts to take home!
- For families checking in their child after they have worshiped together in the main worship gathering (that’s the 6-7 minute break in the service after some singing when you can take your child from the 2nd floor worship gathering up to the 3rd floor check-in and children’s spaces), your child will easily jump in on the fun as we learn from the Bible, sing songs, and enjoy creative craft-making!
BABIES AND WALKERS
Babies and walkers (that’s a kiddo under the age of 2 who is scurrying around on their feet now!) will be cared for by tender-hearted volunteers who are ready to read and feed, rock and talk, protect and even pray over your tiny one (and change diapers, too!) We’ll also happily show you where the mother’s nursing space is (on the 2nd floor adjacent to the main service).
Two- and three-year-olds will have a fun, structured lesson time where they’ll be encouraged with clear, foundational truths! Each week in our printed Parent’s Corner (in our adult worship guide), we’ll always give you the details about your child’s lesson and provide a few family discussion questions so you can share in the lesson together throughout the week!
PRE-K, KINDERGARTEN, AND ELEMENTARY
At this age, children are sponges ready to take in the wonders of the world! What a great opportunity for them to absorb the love of Jesus! First and foremost, your child will hear the wonderful stories from the Bible each week taught by some really fantastic teachers. Your kiddo will also be encouraged each Sunday to build community with their friends by enjoying dancing, singing, creative craft-making, and even hands-on science experiments that help illustrate some of the Bible’s awesome stories! Every week, parents can take home the main idea from your child’s lesson time as well as some family discussion questions (in our adult worship guide: Parent’s Corner) to keep the conversation going each week!
Volunteers are an integral part of making Redeemer Kids successful. If you are interested in joining our team, we would love to have you! Please send a message to our Family Life Pastor, Jeff Smythe. Training and background checks are required and provided for all volunteers prior to serving.
